The second day in London was much busier for us than the first one. So busy, that it was very difficult for me to choose the photos for this post, and almost impossible to limit them down to a smaller number. So once again be prepared to see many photos from day 2 of my trip to London. There will be captions under the photos to explain what you’ll be looking at.
The second day included: Notting Hill (Portobello Road), Covent Garden, Leicester Square, and China town, with coffee and food breaks among them. I hope you enjoy looking at the photos we took.
Waiting for the bus, near out hotel in North London
A very nice area with cute houses
The sun made an appearance that day, but it was still really cold, and quite windy.
A more detailed outfit post is coming next time. Sorry about the hair. It was windy.
Cute shops selling all kinds of stuff, mostly jewellery, clothes and antiques.
Thankfully, there weren’t so many people on the streets that day, and we were able to walk a lot, and see the market.
This was one of my favorite roads. The different colored houses boosted my mood.
At some point, we came across “The Hummingbird Bakery” and since we hadn’t eaten any breakfast, we bought many “supplies”, for the road, and the next days’ breakfast.
I couldn’t help but take some photos as we were waiting for our order to be ready.
Fell in love with their red velvet cupcakes….
….But the red velvet cake knocked me out, with its super yummy but also super sugary frosting. I’m not complaining! It was delicious! And I wish I had taken photos of all the other cakes we ordered.
After walking around Portobello Market we took the tube to Covent Garden.
Beautiful Christmas decorations everywhere
Inside the market there were many places to eat, and drink, and there were artists performing….
A coffee break was necessary.
The big Christmas tree in Covent Garden
Next stop, Leicester Square…
But before that, a stop at Angus Steak House for something to eat….
I liked a lot the décor of the restaurant
New York Strip 10oz, topped with a fried egg, and mushroom sauce on the side for T. I think that was my favorite from the 3 we ordered. T. has an excellent taste when it comes to steaks.
My cousin’s Gammon Steak with a fried egg.
And my Rib Eye Steak (10oz) with mushroom sauce on the side. Didn’t like it so much, but it must be perfect for those of you who like a rich smoky flavor in a steak.
If anyone’s interested you can find the whole menu of the restaurant here.
After lunch/dinner, we continued to Leicester Square…
The square and the area around it, is full of cinema theaters, and casinos. There are also many places to eat and have coffee.
After that we went to China Town, and walked around….
Me under one of the “arches/entrances” to China Town
We ended the night at Duke of York’s memorial, in a failed attempt to find Trafalgar Square….Next time I guess.
After that we returned to our hotel. A busier day was coming….But before that, I have to show you the full outfit of the 2nd day. On my next post….Stay tuned!
