Summer Sunsets | Outfit post

A few days ago my friend S., who studies abroad, (do you remember telling you about her, last summer in Vienna?) and I, went for an afternoon coffee, on the spot I told you about on a previous post. She was in Greece for vacation, but spent most of her days on an island camping, but when she returned, she called me wanting to meet me. She’s one of my dearest friends. Despite studying abroad, and no matter how many miles separate us, we always talk and always meet when she’s in town. She feels like a sister to me.  And it’s one of the friendships I value the most! She only stayed in town for a day before she left for Germany again to study, but we managed to find some time for a coffee and some catching up! I always like to make time on my schedule (no matter how busy it can be at times), for my friends, especially good ones!

Before we reach our destination I asked her to take some pictures of me and my outfit for the blog. It’s always nice to have someone do it for you, instead of using a self-timer. The result left me speechless. She did such a great job with the photos…They were exactly as I wanted them to be, and even more! I hope you like them as much as I did.

Colorblock this!

I wore this outfit for a night out with friends, in an attempt to finally wear my Tsakiris Mallas shoes I bought back then, and “save” them according to the rules of the Shoeper Shoe Challenge by Shoeperwoman.com.

Blue mint | outfit post

Continuing with my “regular posting”, after the long break with my posts about Chios. These photos were taken just before my vacation to Chalkidiki, when we gathered at T’s house to play Buzz on PS3 again.

Family gathering | outfit post

The day before my cousin’s wedding, and of course after all the travelling and touring the island (I described in my previous post) we gathered at my aunt’s house. We weren’t initially going to stay for dinner, but seeing all the family gathered there it was hard to leave. My aunt made a huge table and all the family (and some friends of the bride) sit around to enjoy the food she had prepared for us. It was so nice to see all of my father’s side of family in one table (his 2 sisters with their husbands, and almost all their families as well). It’s something that hasn’t happened for many years. Really wished my father was there to celebrate with us. It felt really weird being on “his” island without him. But let’s leave this sentimental stuff behind and continue to the outfit of that day!

Pre-wedding preparations and bachelorette party

The second day after our arrival to Chios island we were invited to attend the pre-wedding preparations, which was a gathering at the house of the bride & groom to be, in order to make the matrimonial bed, and follow the common traditions. Per tradition, all unmarried ladies gather around to make the bed. The groom or the bride (depending on the local traditions) messes the bed 3 times, until he/she’s finally satisfied with the result. After that, they usually put a baby girl or baby boy on the bed (to bring fertility to the future spouses). Then, all guests throw rice/sugar-coated almonds (koufeta)/rose petals and money on the bed to wish prosperity for the couple. There’s usually a food buffet, and a traditional drink included.

This is what I chose to wear that day!
